Residential Membership
When purchasing a home in Belle Isle Yacht Club, the home buyer is required to purchase a $8,000 Belle Isle Yacht Club membership for each unit (condo). In addition, the Condominium Owners' Association assesses a monthly membership fee supporting operation of the amenities and common grounds, staff employment, and property taxes, based on the total community budget divided by the number of units. When an unusual funding need arises, each member may be assessed an equal amount payable one time, called a special assessment. There is also a monthly regime fee that varies with the individual regime budget and number of bedrooms in the unit. For current information, confirm monthly BIYC fee and regime fee with your realtor. The frequency of residency is not a factor in residential membership; full-time residency and part-time residency experience the same fees.

A Residential Membership entitles use of all amenities of the Belle Isle Yacht Club and Marina for members whose account is in good standing. This includes the pools, tennis courts, and Pawleys Island beach house as well as the use of the Yacht Club Building and Rice Canal Building for private parties, without facility rental fee. Boat slips, boat lifts, boat storage at the marina and trailer storage require additional monthly charges.

Associate Membership
An Associate Membership may be extended to a Belle Isle Yacht Club owner in good standing who is selling their home. It may also be purchased by a non-owner for a one-time initiation fee of $8,000. The same monthly fee as is paid by residential members applies to associate members ($385 in 2023-24). Associate Members are also subject to community-wide special assessment fees, like residential members. (NOTE: The Board of Stewards has temporarily paused issuing associate memberships for those who have never owned in Belle Isle, for evaluation and possible policy revision.)
