Board Election Process

Regime Board Member Elections

In March or April, the President will advise owners that one or more board member terms will expire in June, and nominations for the board are invited. The owner nominated must have indicated they will be willing to serve if elected. Following the Regime IV By-Laws for elections, votes and proxy votes are counted at the Annual Meeting in May. Generally, Regime IV discourages more than one board member from any unit or immediate family.

The new Regime Board is constituted and meets to elect board officers, including a representative to the Board of Stewards. Regime IV is allocated one representative to the BOS, while regimes with more units are allocated additional representatives, based on the number of units.

Board of Stewards Officer Elections

The Board of Stewards is assembled from representatives sent by regimes (i.e., they are elected at the regime level). At the Annual Meeting in May, or shortly thereafter, or at some time prior to July 1st when the new BOS takes office, the new BOS members meet to elect their officers according to the process outlined in BIYC By-Laws.
