Natural Artifacts Found on Battery White

A number of artifacts were found: sand, black soil, clay balls, and pebbles... all natural! No man-made artifacts were found, however, and volunteers were very disappointed, but also delighted that the working group was harmonious and shared a lot of laughs. Everyone had an important job and the work was completed in anticipation of the plentiful lunch provided by Kate & Randy Beaver. Football was viewed in the Yacht Club when hilarious stories were not being shared.

After a huge lunch at the YC, volunteers enjoyed a well-deserved perk after a short day of labor!

Esther Temple remarked, "Since the fence has gone up, some of the natural appearance of the tree canopy on the battery has had a chance to return. It is just beautiful back there. I had never noticed it until Randy sent me back there to clean the Memorial Trail markers today. We are so fortunate to have such a beautiful and historic place in our midst."

Donations received by Battery White Historical Association will be used for future projects, including more decorative fence sections.
